Your Creeds

If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there.

Creed comes from the Latin word Credo, which means, roughly, “A statement of the beliefs that guide someone’s actions.” It is your personal mission statement.

If you find yourself wandering - lost, directionless - in life, your creeds can reveal a path, or paths, for you to follow or choose from. If you already have goals in life but come to a fork in the road, creeds may clarify which fork to take.

Reflect upon your creeds. Refine your creeds. Recite your creeds. Regularly.

What Are Your Creeds?

Developing your own personal mission statement can be hard. We have so many wants. Life demands so much from us. What is it that really drives us? What is going to motivate us to make decisions that lead to being our best selves? What are the values and beliefs that will drive you to make the best decision for your own wellness?

There are no rules when it comes to your creeds. It can be one sentence, a list, a paragraph, a statement… whatever best provides a guide for your personal growth. There are many questions you can ask yourself to help guide your thinking as you uncover your own Creeds. Some of them are below.

  • What do you value most in life?

  • How would you describe the person you would like to be?

  • What do you believe in?

  • What responsibilities do you have to yourself? Others? The world?

  • Who are your heroes? Role models? Inspirations?

  • What traits do you admire in other people?

  • What are your passions?
